When it comes to dieting and weight loss, I’m what you’d call a “lifer”. I’ve been on one kind of diet or another my entire life. Ever since I was little…okay, so I was NEVER little. I went from being a plump baby to being a “chubby” kid and just never lost the chub.
It wasn’t until the last 10 years that my health is what has been more of a concern than anything. It isn’t just about the weight anymore. It’s about feeling good. It’s about being OKAY with myself, regardless of my size and how I’ve never really felt good about myself as long as I’ve been heavy. But now, it’s much more than that. It’s about feeling physically good as well as mentally and emotionally good.
So what I am I doing here? One, this is an accountability blog for myself. I really want to lose weight because I want to be healthier. I also want to feel good at whatever size I happen to be at the time. So it’s also about getting mentally and emotionally healthy as well.
Second, I want to share my experience with you. You might be in a similar spot as me. You might be just starting on a weight loss journey. Or you might have already had a wonderful weight loss transition and are sharing it with the world. I think it’s important to share these experiences. Not only to provide encouragement, but you never know that what you share could be helpful to someone else.
The world we live in is cruel. People will always judge based on our size and looks, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. What can change is how we feel about ourselves and not allow others to dictate how we feel.
So what is the blog really about? It’s about accountability. It’s about physical, mental and emotional health. It’s about giving it my best every day and getting back up when I fall down.
I also want to say that this blog isn’t about telling people to just “stay how you are”. Nothing comes from stagnation. Success only comes with movement. It can be two steps forward and one step back, but at the end of the day, you still have gone forward.
So this is about forward motion. Learning from mistakes and moving forward, even if there are a few bumps along the way.
Getting healthy, staying sexy, and loving your curves, no matter where you are in that journey. 🙂
